Solicitors Waive Will Fees For Charity Campaign

Thu, 17 Nov 2011

Solicitors across the UK are taking part in a campaign to raise funds for a group of well known and respected charities this month.

The annual Will Aid scheme sees solicitors’ drawing up wills during November without charging their normal fees.

Instead, lawyers ask their clients to make a donation to a Will Aid charity . The suggested minimum donation is just £85 for a single will, £125 for a pair of mirror wills or £40 for a codicil (change) to an existing one.

All the cash donated will be shared among the nine leading charities, which include: Action Aid, Age UK, The British Red Cross, Christian Aid, The NSPCC, Save the Children, Sightsaves, SCIAF (Scotland) and Trocaire (N.I)

Anyone who does not have an up-to-date will is urged to make an appointment with a Will Aid solicitor before the end of the month.
