Tue, 01 Nov 2011

A new online service aimed at helping law students secure their first job in the UK legal sector has been launched by a Duncan Gibbins Solicitors.

The Merseyside-based law firm has set up the DG Academy, which is designed to offer support and advice for individuals looking to pursue a career in law .

The Academy, which can be found at Duncangibbins.co.uk/academy-home, contains videos and articles from real solicitors and trainees, offering advice and expertise on how to break into the competitive industry.

Daniel Taylor, operations manager at Duncan Gibbins Solicitors, said he decided to create the website after receiving an influx of applications for legal assistant vacancies that were advertised earlier this year.

In fact, the company received enough applications from both graduates and underrates to fill the vacant positions "10 times over".

Taylor added: "The legal jobs market is particularly competitive and we hope that the resources on our website will give people a helping hand whether they are applying for a job at Duncan Gibbins or another law firm ."
