Solicitors Establish Dedicated Sports Law Firm

Tue, 06 Dec 2011

Two Yorkshire-based lawyers who have links with some of the biggest names in sport have set up a specialist sports law firm .

Leeds-based FrontRow Legal is led by solicitors Richard Cramer and Clive Lawrence and is believed to be the only specialist dedicated sports and media legal firm in Yorkshire.

As well as acting for a number of sports organisations, the company has also been appointed to act on behalf of a new rugby concept called Hybrid Code, which aims to allow rugby league and rugby union players to compete against each in a single ‘hybrid’ game.

FrontRow Legal is also working on catching individuals who create offensive websites or send hateful emails in a bid to smear their clients’ reputations.

Mr Cramer, who has been a lawyer for 26 years, said: "FrontRow Legal is something that has been in the pipeline for a number of years. We always had an ambition to combine sports and media into a boutique firm."

"We have now embraced technology and our operation is light on its feet. We are able to get things done without going through committee meetings."

Mr Lawrence commented: "In our first year we want to establish the brand as a mark of quality in the market. We are looking to have a good solid 12 months of trading to create a platform for expansion."

"Once we’ve proved the concept we want to work with gifted lawyers whose skills are aligned to ours."
