Thompsons Solicitors Awarded Scottish Law Firm of the Year

Thompsons Solicitors has been awarded Law Firm of the Year in Scotland. Senior Partner Frank Maguire accepted the award at a ceremony at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow, dedicating it to the law firms 60 solicitor advocates and lawyers. The awards are organised by The Firm legal magazine and this year recognise the wide range of high quality services provided by Thompsons.

Thompsons recouped more than £1 million each week in compensation for its clients, winning more than 90 per cent of its personal injury court cases. The award also rewarded Thompsons expertise in asbestos related disease causes, their exclusive involvement in the test case class action in relation to ‘miners knee’ in England, and the fact they appeared in the Court of Session Court Rolls more than any other legal firm.

Thompson was also able to secure contracts with two major car insurance companies, and continued to recruit new staff despite the difficult economic environment, opening new offices in Aberdeen while showing loyalty and commitment to existing staff. The judges also praised Thompsons’ ongoing dedication to offering new and innovative services to its extensive trade union client base.
