Law Society Launches Solicitor Ad Campaign

Wed, 23 Sep 2009

The Law Society has launched a new advertising campaign aiming to improve the image of solicitors . The ad campaign uses the Beatles song Help to try to change the public perception of lawyers and solicitors. The promotion is also aiming to raise awareness of the types of problems law firms and their solicitors can help with. The posters will appear in nine national newspapers and more than 200 stations nationwide during the 2 month campaign.

A similar campaign ran last year, costing the Law Society £460,000. It is estimated the campaign brought in more than £1.3 million. The Law Society hopes the promotion will inspire high street law firms to run their own ad campaigns, ensuring people know where they can go locally to receive legal help.

Many people are often put off using solicitors by the high legal costs, though the Law Society hope the current campaign will convince the public that solicitors are the only sensible source of legal advice available to them.

Figures released recently revealed lawyers and solicitors to be coping well with the recession. Although profits dipped by 14 per cent, total revenue actually increased.
